2010 saw the refurbishment of our Station Tearoom and was renamed Victoria's Tearoom, in remembrance of Queen Victoria's visit to Llangollen in 1889
"After luncheon we all started for Llangollen, going by rail, and had a beautiful afternoon. The station was very prettily decorated...We turned sharp to the left above the station, where there was a Guard or Honour of the Volunteer Battalion of the Welsh Fusiliers, with their band and goat, with its gilt horns (my gift), and drove up the beautiful wooded, mountain-girt, deep valley, dotted with villas and cottages, to Bryntisilio, the well-known residence of Sir Theodore Martin...Had tea in the drawing-room, during which a selected number of Llangollen choirs sang Welsh songs, in the pretty sloping garden. It is wonderful how well these choirs sing, being composed merely of shopkeepers and flannel weavers." from the journal of Queen Victoria, 26 August, 1889.
