Lots of bright sunshine has been lighting up the Dee Valley. The return of the Swallows and House Martins around Carrog marks the inevitable move towards the Summer Solstice. However, the Project Team, far from basking in
the sunlight has got on with building the platform wall, putting finishing touches to essential ground work and taking delivery of the first batch of the rail order necessary for completing the station’s track layout. After much detailed work drawing up the application for funding of the Corwen Station Development Project, answering a myriad of questions, on-line, by telephone and interview Tom Taylor, the Project’s Funding/Grants Advisor and Richard Dixon-Gough have been informed that the Welsh Government have at last approved a funding grant of £128,000 towards the building of the new station at Corwen Central. The monies have come through the Welsh Government Rural Communities – Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which itself is funded by the
European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government.
