The View from the Lounge Bay Window
The lounge window overlooks the station platform as the pictures either side show.
The centre picture is of the outside of the bay window in the Holiday Cottage let: the Left picture shows the view to the Left showing the King George bridge over the River Dee and the picture to the right shows the Great Western Auto Train at Berwyn Station Platform, directly below the lounge window.

The original Station and House was built in 1864/5 by the Llangollen and Corwen Railway later to be absorbed into the Great Western Railway (GWR) latterly British Railways Western Region.
The buildings were designed by J Ponsonbury-
Berwyn Station design reflected the earlier half timbered design of the Chain Bridge Hotel on the opposite side of the River Dee – no doubt this pastiche was requested by the famous Henry Robertson, promoter of the line with his associations with the nearby Llantysilio Hall – access to which would have been across the original Chain Bridge (the existing one dates from 1928 – not in use at present).
The Station House was utilised by Railway staff up until the closure of the line
in 1964 when it fell into disrepair. The renaissance of the Llangollen Railway as
a Heritage Tourist Line started in 1975 and the line has been progressively reopened

After a period of ‘dormancy’ the Station House has been progressively refurbished over the year but the main external/internal refurbishment was completed in 2008/9

Berwyn Station is an operational part of Llangollen Railway and trains will call on a regular basis as indicated in the timetable. The working part of the station buildings will be open generally for special events and occasionally during the high season. It is manned by volunteers.
Special trains and works trains will also use the line and sometimes the station outside the times shown in the timetable; sometimes late in the evening.
